Why Choose Turf Over Seeding?

If you want an instant, weed-free, professional lawn with high durability and minimal hassle, roll-out turf is the superior solution.

  • Immediate lush, green lawn – no grow in period.
  • Available for light foot traffic immediately.
  • Free from weeds on installation.

Our Complete Turf Installation Process

1

Site Preparation

We begin by removing weeds, debris, or any old grass. Then we level and condition the soil, improving drainage where needed.

2

Soil Conditioning & Fertilising

Before turfing, we apply a lawn starter fertiliser where necessary and lightly work it into the surface. This promotes strong root development and rapid establishment.

3

Roll-Out Turf Installation

We deliver freshly-cut turf and lay it tightly in staggered rows, avoiding gaps or overlaps.

Installing Your Lawn Yourself

We would be happy to quote for the complete installation of your turf. However, should you choose to install the turf yourself, please note the following advice.

  • Install the turf immediately or as soon as possible after delivery. Turf is a living plant which requires ground contact and moisture to survive.
  • Begin by laying the turf along the longest straightest boundary line e.g. driveway or path.
  • Butt and push edges against each other tightly without stretching.
  • Stagger the joints in each row as you would bricks in a wall.
  • Avoid leaving small strips at outer edges, as they will not retain their moisture. Also, avoid creating indentations or air pockets with repeated walking on turf while it is being installed or just after watering. Use planks to walk across the turf.
  • If installing on a slope, place the turf across the slope.
  • Give your new lawn a good soaking immediately after installation and water daily until the turf is firmly rooted (about 2 weeks) Make sure that the lawn has enough moisture to survive hot, dry or windy periods.

NB: NEVER LET THE TURF DRY OUT!!

Caring for Your New Lawn

A Quick-Start Guide to Healthy, Long-Lasting Turf

Watering

  • Water immediately after installation.
  • Keep the turf moist for the first 2–3 weeks.
  • In dry conditions, water early morning or evening to avoid evaporation.

Mowing

  • Begin mowing once the turf is rooted and reaches 2 inches high.
  • Use a high mower setting initially — only trim the top third.
  • Mow regularly during the growing season.

Feeding

  • Apply a balanced fertiliser regularly during the growing season.
  • Avoid high-nitrogen fertilisers in winter — they encourage frost-prone leaf growth.
  • Feed in spring and autumn with season-appropriate products.

Moss & Weed Control

  • Prevent moss by ensuring good drainage, proper mowing, and feeding.
  • Broadleaf weeds are rare in our turf but can be removed manually or with a selective herbicide if needed.

Aeration & Scarifying

  • Aerate in late summer to relieve compaction.
  • Scarify in spring or autumn to remove thatch and encourage new growth.
